Hey guys. I got a pair of very nice sounding RTA 12C's today from the original owner. He hasnt used them in about 2 years but we hooked them up and they sounded amazing. I was wondering if these will work well with my Monitor 10B's being driven with my Pioneer SX 1050.
Comments?

Oh I paid $200 for them so I am guessing I got a decent deal. I will post some pics when they get here. I left them in the wifes van and she isnt home as yet so I hope I get some feedback from you guys before she gets here.
Thanks
Wes

My favorite Polk speaker (and I have a few.) $200 is a great price for them in good shape. If you plan to listen to music, the replacement silk dome tweeters would be a nice improvement over time.

Sorry, I've never driven mine with a receiver. But, if your 10B's sound good with a receiver, these will too. Enjoy!

Those must be the same speakers I was trying to get. The guy, Larry, said I was second in line. You live around the Cary area? I would like to listen to them at some point if you do.

That is a hella good price for those speakers!
I run my 10B's off an old receiver and they do pretty well. The 12's are a little more efficient than the 10's so they should do OK as well.
The 12's can take some power if you have it though, and no doubt they would open up some more under a good high powerred amp.

edit....ooops I thought I read monitor 12's. Sorry, disregaurd the above.
If you do find monitor 12's for $200 though, Buy Em!

Hi Steve, Yea I was the first one to them, I live in the Rolesville area. Larry was a very nice guy by the way. However I think these are really RTA-12B's as seen in the pics of the top sections. If anyone here can tell me let me know.
Here are some pics I took tonight. The cabs are in great shape but the grills are in need of recovering. Thats it and they will look GREAT !!

Yep the numbers in the back and on the circuit board say RTA12B so I dont know if I got a good deal or not now. I have read on other places where the 12C's were heads and shoulders above the A and B models. Dont know why but these really do sound good. I think I will have to call Larry back and have a chat with him. He owes me the Carver he was driving these with now at a GREAT PRICE LOL.

those B's have the peerless tweeter as opposed to the C which had the sl2000 I believe. dont write them off, I had the 12B's and loved em. I also have heard people like the 12C's better, but I allways disliked the sl2000 tweeter so on that alone I would disagree, but I never heard a 12C.

enjoy those B's, I miss my pair, but I could just go to my friend's house (Fireman32) and listen to them there if I want. I cant think of a way for you to do better on 200 bucks, thats for sure.
