Possible roommate question

I have a question I thought I would ask here. You never know until you ask.
I am in a situation where a good paying job opportunity dried up on me several months ago in the Seattle area and now I am likely going to be selling my house in the next 1-3 months.
My old company regularly has openings in their Sunnyvale facility and I have been toying with the idea of moving down there. There is certainly no opportunity for me to buy a house in that market, so I would have to rent.
Ideally, and due to the cost of living, I would like to split the rent on a house with someone, or rent part of a house from someone who already lives there. I would be looking to spend about $1000-1200 a month for such an arrangement.
This arrangement is not difficult to find, except that ideally the person I live with would have a love for audio....sometimes very loud audio :D
Anyway, thought I'd see if anyone in the CA bay area was in a similiar situation, or had any suggestions.
Thanx for any responses.

Good luck Zen! This situation is always a crap shoot. Even if they have referrences, capatibility issues are hard to identify up front. I recommend a "Three's Company Arrangement":D

I would think that the Bay area you could find lots of suitable roommates with houses or rooms to rent. Being as how $$$ it is to live there... i'd go for it. Mention though that you are a budding audiophile and have some stereo equipment that is coming with you. ;) just a few small pieces.. nothing major. :p

Invest in a nice pair of headphones. Blasting music, which a roomate may or may not like, is never a good thing. Now HT, most people will like that. So frame it as I'm bringing my HT equipment and you'll be good to go.

for me.. headphones don't cut it.. i wanna listen to it from speakers. not something over my ears. no matter if they are Senn's or Grados, or what have ya.

Maybe before you get there.. post an ad in the local alt paper in the Bay area, with your requirements.. MUST LOVE LOUD MUSIC, etc. and see what kind of responses you get.

Plus once they hear your SDA's. they'll be your best friend too. :) membership has it's privaliges. :p

I agree on the headphones don't do it. I have never been a big headphone fan. They just don't produce that whole body concert experience.
I have been looking through the Craigs list shared living listings. I may post one myself and see what kind of feedback I receive.
All in all it is difficult giving up your own living space. :(
The really ironic part is I will pull a fair cash cushion on the house sale, which means I would be in line for some upgrades.
