You'll see them listed in the Polk parts list but I don't think they've been available for years.

Just curious how you determined the crossover was bad?

Also do you know how it became damaged. Generally crossovers are fairly resilient and you may want to understand what happenned to it before you pop another one in.

What model Monitor 7 do you have?
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

He didn't say what problem he is having, but the most common failure would be the caps, which could result in distortion or no sound at all. The solution would require replacing the caps. I would recommend replacing all of them and you might as well replace the resistor(s) while you're at it.

Every crossover is different. The values can be found on the components or you can get a schematic from Polk.

They might be similar in design or the same. Call ken at customer service and ask.

    Dan,

I don't have any info on that model, sorry. As Esavinon suggested, contact Polk.

    Dan,

Check this thread. The original Monitor series are in the 1st post. You'll have to click on each and enlarge it to see which model it's for. The info is listed in the legend of the schematic.

Good luck. This will give you the values of the parts so you can replace the old parts on the same board.

It appears that both schematics are the same. They both use the same active drivers and all the values of inductors, resistors and capacitors are the same and in the same position. However, it's always good to check with Ken in CS just to make 100% sure.

Aren't you glad you didn't waste time upgrading your crossovers? Simple troubleshooting usually works things out.

You're right. Too bad somebody didn't come along and offer help in the meantime.

What are you talking about??? The only general questions you asked were, "How about offering some helpful info on determining the symptoms of a failed cross-over or how to repair such." and "Any techinical info on the cap and resister sizes to use in such a repair?" From those we're suppose to read your mind that you have a problem?

Next time try explaining exactly what problem you are having and with what product.

As for crossover upgrades, not repairs....well, the only way to know if they improve things is to try it for yourself. Some folks don't believe in them, others do. Besides that, no one said anything about upgrading, just repairing and it looks like help was offered in that area.

Yep, free, friendly advice sure gets a lot of scrutiny lately. Words on a page can take a different meaning, but he zinged F1 and then his most recent comment. Question asked and answered, what more does the guy want?  .

I thought he received as much help as could have been given.

As a side note, I believe in crossover upgrades.
