Monitor 5 Ser. II problems
Hi. I have a pair of M5 Series2 Polks. One day both sounded normal, the next day both have no sound coming from the 6 1/2" drivers and sound VERY weak. Tweeters I here sound from. It is not the Integrated amp, speaker cables or interconnects. I have tested those 3 components on another system and all ok. I pulled one of the 6 1/2" drivers and put pos/neg leads to it from an amp and I here sound through the driver. Could I have blown both cross-over networks at the same time?
Thanks.
Thanks.

You may want to decrease your listening levels some. Dropping both drivers you must have been pushing them pretty hard. The Family

Dan:
Sorry no-one was able to offer advice to you from the boards. Sometimes a lack of response simply means that given the circumstance no-one has an answer or input they consider useful.
You did mention in your initial post you got the driver to function outside of the unit, yet it still appears you had a damaged driver.
At any rate if you hang around you may find there is value and knowledge to be gained here.
I hope you continue to enjoy your polks. A piece of advice I find useful is if you need to go past 12:00 on your volume dial, it is probably time for a larger amplifier. In your case your amp is well matched to your speakers and you may wish to step up a level or two on the size of your speakers. If you like the sound of the 5's you would likely also like the 7's which can go a bit louder. Also the original monitor 10b"s. Try the Monitor 7's as they can be found fairly cheap and have a similiar sixed footprint. The Family
