I wish my name was Nacho. Matter of fact, start calling me that, EVERYONE.

    Consider it done Nacho.

I am pretty skeptical about the movie. I might rent it, maybe. I'm not going to be the guinea pig on this one.

    Hmm,

    Jared Hess = Napolean Dynamite
Mike White = School of Rock
    Jack Black = Funny Man

I think this will be a good movie.

If you have XBox360 you can download all of Jack's 'confessionals'. Pretty good stuff, especially if he uses that accent through the entire movie.

Definitely going to be on the buy list when it hits DVD.

    Hey Nacho,

Keep your beady little eyes open for a nice, simple tube pre for me. I'll be in the market soon, I hope.;)

    LOL!

No problem. I actually did one without the mustache first, but I added it in later. It's on my computer at home. Give me about an hour.

I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. Just remember, they can buy anything but they can't buy backbone. Don't let them forget it. Thank you.Herman Blume - Rushmore

There is no genuine justice in any scheme of feeding and coddling the loafer whose only ponderable energies are devoted wholly to reproduction. Nine-tenths of the rights he bellows for are really privileges and he does nothing to deserve them. Classic! I'll be there opening day. I'm the biggest fan of Napoleon Dynamite.. this looks just as good, if not better.

    Love his confessions online.

Just got back... Wow. 9 outta 10 for me! I didn't stop laughing from the opening call to the credits. Jack Black hit the nail so hard on the head, a solid home run! Superb acting, hilarious story line, I loved it. Much funnier than NP, with a real story line as well. I have to see it again, soon.

The theater was absolutely packed. It was in one of the 1400 seaters, and there weren't two seats side by side open. The usher lady had to have people scootch over just so we could sit together. And of course, everyone clapped at the end. What more can you ask for? :D

**Disclaimer** I took my sister and her husband and though they laughed quite a bit, they said it was just too stupid for them. I dunno what's wrong with them; fat guys running around with their belly's out, farting at the wrong times, slap stick humor?? What more could a guy ask for?

Go see it in the theater. The $6-9 bucks is well worth the price. If you are even a slight fan of JB, you'll love it! The guy just was too good. And the nun wasn't bad looking herself ;)

Again, for my sick twisted sense of humor, a solid 9 outta 10. Enjoy.

I just went to see it as well. I'm all for immature and stupid humor but I didn't find this movie funny at all. Then again after a second viewing of NP I didn't like that either....and Jack Black isn't funny to me most of the time. Maybe it's just me though.

I thought the trailers were more funny than the film.

And whatever Cartoon Network commercial played during the Twenty(or whatever Regal calls that crap now) was effing hillarious. I laughed so hard it hurt.

It was pretty good. Some good laughs but didn't make any tears come out. I'd give it 7/10.

i'll wait for this one on DVD. i am so not spending 9 bucks at the theater for slapstick, juvenile, potty type humor. call me a movie snob, but that's how i is.

Saw it last night, and went in with pretty low expectations. Came out pleasantly surprised. However I am a pretty big Jack Black fan.

Honestly, does it look like a movie that's going to get increasingly better with more viewings? I like Jared Hess' subtlety, but Jack Black typically isn't a subtle actor. How did this movie incoorporate both styles?

    Demiurge,

I think you'll be pleasantly surprised with the subtlety of Jack Black. I'm not a real big fan of his, and he totally played the part to perfection. The facial expressions, body language, spoken language, it was a smash. I saw it two days ago now, and I already want to spend the money and return and see it again. One of those I feel that you could sit and watch several times in a row, and still get the "New" experience outta it.

I think it was also the extreme originality of the film that caught my fancy as well... Never seen anything quite like it :D Which is a good thing, IMO.
