i have a pioneer elite 50'', and im running a ps2 through component cables to that sucker. it seems to me like the picture is a bit grainy and lights and shadows aren't looking like they are supposed to. (big surprise, ps2 isn't the greatest dvd player of all time) but at the same time, i want to see what it can do.... so if anyone has any feedback that'd be awesome.
p.s. ive also had this encounter at customers houses and did not know how to correct it, so for future reference as well...Thanks!:)

My guess is that its just the PS2's inherent quality limitations. They must be even more apparent on a HD screen.

btw, games look pretty damn good, i mean, its probably the elite speaking for me, but it isn't that bad looking at all. not HD, but close enough for me, man!

in grand tursimo 3 you have to go into the set menu to change to 1080i

GT3 is the only game out on PS2 that does 1080i output which needs to be done via the setup menu on the game. Everything else is 480i or 480p. The games tell you on the back if they're progressive or not (where they put how many players, vibration, etc).
