ps2 and component

running a ps2 with component video into a pioneer elite pro-1130....the picture doesn't seem to be as clear as it should be, i don't know if its the tv or what, but it looks very "grainy" and shadows, lights through darkness, etc look a little "foggy"....anyone have ideas?
currently in car:
'00 Honda Accord LX V6
AEM V2 cold air induction
c400.4 amp powering a pair of momo 6500's
and a pair of momo 6x9's
alpine monoblock amp powering a jl w3 12''
custom fab work for tweeters
jl rca's, dist block and power/grounds
alpine cda 9857 head
three ground loop isolators
ipod integration, all songs at 320kbs

    uh yea, sell the ps2. its still console graphics engines no matter what the interconnection is

    it's a game system with 480i resolution. Even if you progressively scan it, it's no better than your average $50-75 dvd player. Not to mention, it's a game system, not a live action movie.
    Never kick a fresh **** on a hot day.

    Home Setup: Sony VPL-VW85 Projo, 92" Stewart Firehawk, Pioneer Elite SC-65, PS3, RTi12 fronts, CSi5, FXi6 rears, RTi6 surround backs, RTi4 height, MFW-15 Subwoofer.

    Car Setup: OEM Radio, RF 360.2v2, Polk SR6500 quad amped off 4 Xtant 1.1 100w mono amps, Xtant 6.1 to run an eD 13av.2, all Stinger wiring and Raammat deadener.

    Some PS2 games do 480p and I believe that there's at least one that does 1080i... but no 720p.

    So- make sure the game does better than 480i (google is your friend) and make sure you have decent cables.

    thanks unc. cmon people, don't think i don't know that the ps2 isn't MADE for playing movies, haha seriously, now...

    in the setup screen their is are setings for comp. out put check it. cna't remeber what the settings are my palystaion has been down for about a month, and I have not felt like adjusting the laser gap to get it to work again. oh well take a look and see if it helps

    the only option if i can remember is either have it output y/pb/pr or rgb. But i could be wrong, its been a while
