Hey what is the difference (not worrying between RTi & LSi) for your surrounds if you have dipole's or bookshelf speakers? Which is really the better for surround and rear surround. And which is the best way to hook them up and position them?

Could depend on placement and personal preference. I use rti4s for my rears and they are lying on their backs on the floor.

Off topic, but Willow do they still smell? LOL (Hey bud, What's up?)
I have had both, and I enjoy the dipole/bipoles better. The book shelf speakers were not bad though.Main Set-up: 55" 120 hz Samsung LN55B650, Onkyo TX-SR806, Emotiva XPA-5, Emotiva XPA-2, PS3 Slim, Sony BDP-S560, Apple TV (160g), Panamax M5300-PM, Polk Audio CSi5, RTi10's, FXi3's, RTi4's, and SVS PB12 Plus

ROTFLMFGO........as if you remember that ! HA....no they don't and I'm still not sure why......Oh YEah..Hey back Bud.....sorry for the hijack;) -
Well the reason I ask is cuz instead of longing for speakers that I probably wont have a very long time I'm just gonna start off at the very bottom and work my way gradually up the ladder. And I already have a CS 1 center, and Monitor 40 surround bookshelf. I still have to get rear surround and Floor-Standing which are gonna be Monitor 50 for fronts and I'm thinking Monitor 30 for rear surround or should I do another pair of Monitor 40 for my rear surround?CURRENT SYSTEM:

Look I told you I'm sorry. Um... I don't know what else to say I have a bad temper and you I'm kinda sensitive to the fact when people get into my case about my home theater. I'm sorry I can't help it that I feel like it it hurts my feelings. Like I said I'm very tempramental and I'm very sorry.CURRENT SYSTEM:

polk_audio_lsi, i think people are irritated by some of your posts.. because you change your mind so often. The best way I approach what i'll buy next audiowise is...
1. what is the weakest link in my system ? Is it speakers, is it cables, is it a cd player.
2. what fits my budget? If you got the change for LSi's. then cool.. if you can only manage to get some R50's.. then for a lot of us.. the decision is already made.
3. I always do my homework on whatever it is i'm looking to buy next. I am rarely a impulse type of shopper. I've made some bad purchases in the past and reget them later when i impulse shop. So i don't do it.
4. have a goal. Where do you want to take your system? Is your goal all LSI's in say 1 yr. or two years. or 3 months. Have a goal and try to reach it.
But this going back and forth and changing your mind nearly every other day.. just gets tiring. Some good advice has been given to you. what you do with that advice is up to you.PolkFest 2012, who's going>?

On a serious note though it's just me and my girlfriend are in some serious financial trouble right now and it's been a big thing to me to have my own home theater system for a couple of years now. And it's taken me a couple of years to have just A LITTLE and I'm soooo impatient to have a really nice home stereo that I tend to blabber on and on about something that, honestly, I'll probably never have. So I really do apologize.CURRENT SYSTEM:
