I want y'alls opinoin on some stuff I've dug up and this is some pretty good **** right here:
Receiver: Marantz SR9600 (140 x 7) [15 preouts]
7 Channel Amplifier: Lexicon CX7 (140 x 7)
Mono Amplifier: Parasound JC-1 (400 watts @8ohm, 800 watts @4ohm, 1200 watts @2ohm)
DVD Player: Onkyo Integra DPS-10.5
Front Speakers: Snell Acoustics (300 watts @4ohm)
Center Channel: Atlantic Technology (200 watts @6ohm)
Dipole Surrounds: Klipsch (400 watts @8ohm)
Subwoofer: Velodyne HGS-18

Now that is just sort of like a "rough draft". I really wouldn't know how to wire it up in the first place. You know, which amp goes where, where the mono amp goes. But what do y'all think that damn system would sound like?
CURRENT SYSTEM:

(TV) Sylvania 24"
(DVD Player) LG DVF 9900
Sony Playstation 2
(Receiver) Onkyo TX-SR503
(Front Speakers) Polk Audio Monitor 40
(Center Channel) Polk Audio CS 1
(Surround) Paradigm Cinema ADP [Dipole] (On top of Polk Audio Monitor 40)
(Subs) Pioneer CS-G9001 (Bi-wired with Fronts subwoofers only working layed down up against back of couch)
Monster Fiber Optic Cable (DVD Player to Receiver), Monster speaker wire

Jesse, you must be the "king" of the night owls, :D I got back earlier today from a seminar in Nashville, found out that my daughter is pregnant with my second grandchild, could not sleep,so here I am,contemplating an upcoming roadtrip of 18 hours roundtrip for some srs 2's and another pair if 1C's just for kicks.
Sorry for the thread hijack, lsi, sounds to me that you have a few pair of ic's to obtain, setting it up and calibration should be fun,if you can't decide what to do with the mono, send it to me,and I'll try to figure something out :)

your posts as of late have kind of been all over the map in regards to equipment. what you should really do is listen to this stuff for yourself, narrow down the choice, then ask for help. we really dont just comment on any system you can put down on paper. its just not most of our styles here.

p.s., the system above 3 different speaker brands int he samne theater, usually not going to sound great.

go ahead and take the plunge and buy something and work from there, most people would rather help build a system even if its a starter or real cheap setup then go on hypathetical(sp) systems that sound good.. Ive owned several of those and never had the money to actually buy them. and tone down the name calling and getting angry after only a short time here..

I agree with Ohskigods response. In addition, I have always found the people here to be helpful, friendly, and informative. They have responded kindly to many of your post, and I find your language in response to F1nut extremely distasteful, inappropriate, and disrespectful to the members of this forum, who have for the most part entertained and responded to your post, many of which have been random inquisivitve questions.

What about Integra? For maybe a receiver or an amp? Do they make good stuff? I know they have some affiliation with Onkyo which is what I have right now and like kinda, if it were a little bit more powerful.

Jesse makes a better friend than an enemy,,,he,and alot of other members can save you some headaches, because they have "been there, done that", if it were me,I'd start with a solid 2ch system, seperates of good cost/reputation/sound quality(what you like) and then build from there, take your time and tweak to your liking as you go,no need to rush, because it never ends :)

My suggestion to you lsi is to synergize your current system, and then start building from there. Polk Monitor 50's or 60's in the front to replace the Pioneers. I don't know what Paradigm monitors you have as surrounds, but try Polk Monitor 30's or 40's to add to the 40's you already have.

I don't know what your financial situation is, but many of the items you question about are quite expensive. If you are in a position to purchase them, narrow down your choices, and focus on putting together a synergistic system. If you can't afford them right now, spend a little less, and follow my suggestion above.

Enjoy that for a while. Take some time to learn. Gather some additional financial resources with a targeted budget in mind, and then start upgrading
from there in a more systematic fashion.

I don't see the point in speculating on, or even going out and listening to products that are out of my budget range, it only detracts from my enjoying what I have now.

OK I'm sorry for getting upset, but F1nut was being an **** and he pissed me off really bad. My signature is currently what I have. Can you suggest what I should go listen to first? Don't say any brands or anything just should I go get a receiver, some kind of amp, fronts, center, surrounds, subs? What should I go check into first? And should I worry about THX? Cuz I'm pretty stuck on that right now.

THX means nothing, the rest depends on budget.

I say go with seperate amplification if you can afford the cheddar, if you go reciever, get pre outs. will save you grief down the road in upgrades.

integra, good recievers, they have a 7 channel amp that is very good, but very expensive. the adm 2.1 2 channel is ok, but about on the level with there 7 series reciever.

speakers, gotta trust your ears. I got LSi and love them. RTi's are great too, especially toward HT because they are a little brighter and more forward.
