Nero Question

I have Nero 7 Ultra Edition.....

When burning an audio CD, why doesn't the track information burn onto the cd (track & artist info) that's readable when playing in Windows Media Player or Winamp etc?

I hate seeing "Track 1 (2, 3, 4, etc)" and "Unknown Artist" for every track that I've burned. I want to be able to have that information show when i try to play the disc........

Any ideas?

    Brett,

After you make your compilation, and you click on the burn button you have a small window pop up.

In this small window you have four TAB folders..."info". "audio CD", "CDA options", and "burn".

Click on the Audio CD TAB, there you will see CD Text, make sure that the CD Text box is checked.

    That should fix your problem.

(This is assuming you are making this under the "make audio CD option", if you make an MP3 disk all track info should come up)

When I click on amke an audio CD, Nero Express pops up and that's where it has me adding tracks.

After adding the tracks, I click on the NEXT button and the next bottom to push after that is BURN. If I expand thearrow to the left side of the screen, then i get a few burn option features(write speed/method, simulation, write, etc) but none of the windows i've seen have the tabs as you've described.

    Odd......

I put the cd that i'd burne back in the drive and I clicked on a CD Info button and it brings up all the track information including track/artist, song duration, and then running duration for the disc.

I still don't see the fields you've mentioned, and I can't find anything on Windows Media Player or Winamp that i need to select to have the song/artist information show up and not be displayed as generics.

If I right click/properties on the track information in the now playing of WMP, it does not pull up any of the track infomration......just the track length.

well for starters, windows media player DOES NOT support cd text. try using software that is capable of displaying cd text data and you should be fine (winamp with cd text plugin) . also, stop using nero express or anything express for that matter....are you a 10 year old? i didnt think so.

    Wow, what a nice non-abrasive response....

Brett, where are you getting your MP3s from? Are you ripping CDs or Downloading from iTunes (or the like)?

PH, express is what opens when I select burn audio CD. It burns the cd and it works fine. If you're saying that express shouldn't open when I select burn audio cd, tough ****......that's what pops up, and it works .

Demi, combo of some ripped and some p2p'd.

I found a plugin for WMP10 and now it's displaying........I don't see why it doesn't automatically display that info.......seems behind the times IMO.

Brett Open Nero with the "Nero Smart Start".

MAke sure that the drop down box on top of the smart start window is set at CD.

Highlight the music note icon and pick the first selection which is "Make audio CD".

the problem is us americans as a whole are becoming lazy and choose the express version of everything no matter how chopped up it is versus the original version. if you took the time to use the actual nero program - not express, than you would have known how to figure out this whole mess on your own.

okay, so now i am lazy because i chose to use the version that came for free with my burner instead of paying $100 for the full version which i dont need...that is funny :D:D

I think PH isn't getting laid or something.

The full version of Nero(as was explained in post 1, line 1) is what pops up the express window you dick.

Nero Express is just the burning part of nero. Whether or not you go through that start smart crap I believe it'll still put you into express. There's nothing wrong with using nero express.

When I fire up Nero, it doesn't use express at all. When I go to burn a disc, a regular window comes up, and there's a button that allows me to SWITCH to express, which basically takes away most of the options. If there's any way you can go from express to regular I would agree that that would be a good idea, as it gives you more control over how you're burning.

However, I'm using Nero 6 so I'm not sure how much has changed.
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.
