Hello fellow polkies. I have been lurking in this forum for a while now and from this forum is where I got a lot of my home theater ideas on the budget side.

Anyways, my quest for a decent HT equipment has led me to the following equipments through the years of lurking at several audio/video sites (this one includint):

Infocus 4805 for display
Fosgate Audionics FAP T1+ for the pre-pro
Outlaw Audio 7100 7 channle amp
Onkyo Universal DVD player
LSi15 front
LSiC center
LSi7 sides
LSiFx rears

I do not play my system at reference levels and I should say that it is OK for now. And from reading a lot of people's posts re:LSi speakers, they need to be juiced up to at least 200 watts at 4 ohms.

Now, I have been looking for a budget amp (<$1K) at audiogon and ebay to rectify this issue. And through my search, I saw this amp at Audio Advisor for $799, it is made by Boston Acoustics, the model is A7200 and its supposed to be 120 watts per channel and as an added bonus, it has a dual torroidal transformer.

Anways, do you guys know of this amp? How do you guys think this will compare to the Outlaw 7100?

Thanks in advance for your input.

You're OK with the Outlaw. No need to change out what you have. However, if you decide to buy another amp, it should be at least 200 wpc into 8 ohms. That'll give you more than enough headroom. Going from 100 wpc to 120 wpc isn't worth doing, IMO.

Welcome to the boards. I cannot help you with the amps since I have only owned the outlaw. I can say that I have been happy with it and have had no complaints.

I do have a question for you though. Why did you decide to use your best sound diffusers (LSiFx) for the rears instead of the sides?

Again welcome to Club Polk. Very nice system you have put together!

The Outlaw is a great amp. A Rotel or Parasound will also fit your budget (used).

    Welcome to the Forum!

I snagged an Adcom 5500 and it sounds great with my Lsi's. It is 200wpc@8 ohms and 350wpc@4 ohms. Very smooth sound.

I can also vouch for the Adcom. Very clean and has worked well with my Polk monitors.
