Sub causing front channels interference?

I noticed that when the sub is turned all the way up and I'm listening to music at louder volumes (radio or CD) there is static in the front channels. If I turn the sub to half volume, it goes away. The sub is close to the front channels if this matters. Suggestions?

That is a very unusual problem.
An SVS at high volume moves a lot of air. It could be the sound pressure is vibrating a loose connection. You might try reseating all the input/output connectors in your system. You may also try moving the sub further from the speakers and receiver. Generally subs perform best near a corner anyway.

Thanks! I checked the connections at the speakers & receiver and nearly all were *slightly* loose. I gave them a really good snug by hand and that seems to have taken care of the static. I guess the sub was vibrating the connections just enough to cause the noise. I also moved the sub farther to the right - closer to the fireplace & corner and it seems to sound a little more forceful. That will be it's permanent place anyway because my wife & I just picked out an entertainment center over the weekend which will take up nearly all the wall-leaving just enough for the fronts & sub. :D The front right speaker will have to go in front of the sub probably because of the cabinet width. Would that cause any problems?

Again, thanks for the recommendations Zen Dragon ;)

Glad the suggestions worked out. The closer you get the sub to the corner, the firmer your bass should become as you get 2 walls as well as the floor reinforcing the sound.
As to the speaker in front of the sub, should not be a major problem. Just make sure to play around with the phase switch for the best sound. The sub could reinforce some of the speaker bass and cause it to sound boomy depending on the phase and crossover settings. Sometimes you have to play with those a little to get the sound you are looking for. Try to leave some space between them to prevent too much cabinet resonance in the speakers as well.
    Enjoy the new entertainment system.

    What cables are you using?

My sub is set to 12 oclock and is like.... 8" from my equipment...

Something is wrong with your cables if they plug in like that.

I'm using 14 GA wire (no end connectors of any type) running from the receiver to the RTi8's. The sub is run with a 3M Signal Cable from SVS.
