bi-wiring help for monitor 50

Hello,

I would like to bi-wire my monitor 50s. I have a Yamaha AV receiver that has a speaker A, B, A+B selector option.

From the Monitor catalogue diagram (for bi-wiring), it looks like both pairs of cables for bi-wiring each unit is coming out of the same terminal (A or B).

Is that how it should be done?

Or should I run one cable (say to the Tweeter) from the A terminal, and the other (to the Mid/Woofer) from the B terminal. And then set the setting on the AVR to A+B?

Also, my AVR has a IMPEDENCE SELECTOR switch. This is what the manuals says:

LEFT -
(i) if you use one set of speakers (A or B), each speaker should be 4 ohms or higher)

(ii) if you use two sets (A+B), the impedence of each speaker must be 8 ohs or higher.

RIGHT -
(i) if you use one set of speakers (A or B), each speaker should be 8 ohms or higher)

(ii) if you use two sets (A+B), the impedence of each speaker must be 16 ohs or higher.

Right now (without bi-wiring) the switch is set to RIGHT.

If I should bi-wire my Monitor 50 through A+B, should I move the switch to LEFT?

    when they tell you about ohms i think its usually a heating issue....run a channel to the top posts of the speakers and b channel to the bottom. keep a+b on and set it to 4ohms or higher... now im not a pro at this stuff but i think this is the correct way.......and remeber to take off the jumpers from the speakers

    Either way will work fine; take both leads off "A" or use A+B. Probably easier to use A+B if your wire is fat....

    i really doubt it'll sound better that just wiring it normally..i tried it on a panny i had and it actually degraded the sound quality. I Don't think that you are actually doubling your power when running off a and b simultaneously. But just hook it up and see for yourself..i could be wrong...it has happened before.

    I'm not sure on this but I think both wires should go to A or B. If you use both you will be at 4 ohms and you might not be stable at 4 ohms.

    If you have not bought or can return the xtra cable do so. if anything, replace the metal jumpers with some speaker cables and you're good to go.
    as for the impedance button I say leave it where it is now.
