Parts Express question......

I'm going to be building a sub box for my car, but I need to know if any of you guys that buy parts like this often are familiar with something a bit better.

THIS is what I'm looking to get, but I've seen some of the better individual binding posts, but none that look like they're a part of the plates or even could be integrated into the plates.

I'm putting 2 subs in the box, thus the preference for a plate with 2 pair together rather than individual plates for each pair. Also, I like the recessed area rather than a flush surface mount where the posts aren't inset.

    Brett,

You might try the Vampires, BPHEX, I think. They are fairly compact if you take them off the little block they come with.

You can also buy them direct from Vampire Wire. Either one would work.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

Except neither of those options gives me a plate that's recessed and capable of holding both pair of the binding posts.

Can you sink a counter bore into the wood? Or, use a router? If I'k all wet, show us a sketch to better illustrate your situation.

Why not use the PE plates and upgrade the posts?

Brett, will you be running the subs in parallel? If so, you just need one set of posts and you can combine the wire on the inside.

Each sub will have it's own amp, so the wiring is going to be from each amp to each sub (by way of it's own binding posts).

I suppose I could just upgrade the posts like that.......jues tseems like there should be a plate with upgraded posts.....

    How about these?

They're not vampire but the binding posts are a step up. I've purchased from them before. Good experience.

Yeah, I thought that's what you had in mind in the first place, Brett.

It didn't actually cross my mind to swap them out.........sad....

I put a call into Polk for the price on the LSi binding post.....I think that might be my best option from a QC standpoint.

Polk CS only sells the binding posts with the crossover connected, so that would be a $50 route, but with what places like parts express or a few other higher end posts would end up costing, $50 doesn't sound bad for the plate, and all 4 posts.

Are they a pair of sing pair posts or a pair of dual pair posts on the plates?

I only really need a total of 2 pairs of posts.......... if they're split up that's not a problem .

    PM sent.....
