Any thoughts about this model? Can it put out what it's advertised to? Seems like a good deal for the price.

    pyle=flea market crap

If you want cheap, look up profile. Theyre cheap and pretty reliable.

My favorite cheap priced amp is HiFonics over at www.onlinecarstereo.com

Comes with a 1 yr warranty and theyre great amps

Even without a quick look at the specs, I would say no. Pyle is not a brand you will hear great things about.

Distortion is listed as .04 % (higher than average)

4 ohm output (continuous) is listed as 150 watts x 2?
2 ohm output (continuous) is listed as 220 watts x 2?

Both power spec's are on the low side for realistic power output (and all this at 14.4V, optimum voltage), and the "suggested" 1800 watt output from this thing is guaranteed to be unlistenable.

Save your money. This amp is not worth anything at any price. There are lots of threads in the forum which can recommend lower priced amplifiers which DO perform.

Ill throw my hat in here too. Pyle is aptly named. Actually it should be named Steaming Pyle.

Go to Crutchfield.com and check out the Profile amps. They are the best budget amps on the market. Not only are they really cheap but theyre well made and will make their rated power.

Remember when Lanzar used to be Lanzar Pro Audio... Back in the days of the
    Opti-Drive amps?

Shame what being bought out by a garbage peddeling company can do for
your reputation.. That's not a "Pyle" I would want to be on.... Get my Pun?

I use to have two of their 15" Competition sub or something in the early 90's. Those things were something else. I traded them for a couple of 15" Rockford Fosgate Punch subs from the same time and always regreted that trade.....

I actually still have those Fosgate subs :D.

I still have my Series 1 RF 12's damn they must be like 15 years old...

The foam surrounds have yet to rot... And they have sat in my garage for
    years... Who Da Thunk It??

I remember when a local kid had his Izuzu minitruck done they put 12, 12"
Lanzar Comp's in the bed of the truck in a 1" thick Plexiglass enclosure ported
into the cab of the truck, inside the cab he had Sony Mobile ES (OLD Mobil ES)
8" Midbass and 5.25" Midranges in the doors with a pod mounted ES tweeters
everything was actively EQ'd and seperately amped and the bass was fed
through something called a "Phantom" ? (was never sure what it was).

They must have used a ton of dynamat because with the doors closed and
the glass up and the tonneu on the truck you would not know it had a system
aside from the danglies on the rear view mirror shaking violently. It was a
15K install from what I remember.
