Can somebody help me out with THX cables or really top of the line cables? I just need to know some of the top of the line cables that are out there. Currently I have Monster THX and I love them but I would like to know that they are THE top of the line, if not can I have some suggestions that could be top of the line?

I use raymond cables. He is a small manufacturer in Washington state that sells on e-bay.
I like them and so do a couple of other people on this board.
Thay are reasonably priced and well built.
I built my system using them almost everywhere and I like them. They are the only "nice" cables I have really tried and I know they preformed better than the generic cables I was using.

What is your budget? You are really putting the cart before the horse when you talk about purchasing cables for a system you don't own yet.

Use the cables you have - when you get your system in place, find out what others with systems like yours are using and what they think of them. No one cable is best for all systems.

Some work better than others in certain systems, but there is no way to tell from looking at a system on paper - what cables would be your best choice.

    Mains.............Polk LSi15 (Cherry)

I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. I started a thread about it earlier but no one has replied. That is why it was still in my "paste" clipboard or whatever it is called.

Not everyone notices a difference in cables... so why buy the cables until you know if you can tell a difference.. some have a great ear for audio and some don't.. I'm in the middle, can tell some IC cables, but the power cord i couldn't tell a thing... and some times we just buy better for piece of mind.. you decide,

Cliff, you know, as well as many others here, that the higher the resolution of the gear, the more likely one is to hear a difference. Not many will hear a difference while still using a reciever. And NO!!!!...I'm not bashing anyone that is utilizing a reciever for their power/pre.:)

He did say top of the line... didn't he? Never gave a budget.. so....

I just got these in the mail today... Cobalt Cable ultimate speaker cables... nice price too.. around $125 for two 6.6 feet cables. I took advantage of that deal Coblat was running a few days ago. They look nice and solid. I'll hook them up tonight and let them burn in for a week or so.

    * Oh yeah i'll second what Mr Skynut said.. i too use the Raymond cables.. love em!!!

that is very true Noel, and far as top of the line... F1 said it right there, sky's the limit... Madmax just sold some cables for 700 bucks, to me that's pretty top of the line.. Its a blanket statement, and with a HT setup its not so critical unless your listening to music alot also

Many would consider the interconnect above as one of the big 3. Along with Purist and Nordost. Although people have said the Oritek X-2's are as good or better for only $700 which is almost 10% of the cost of the big guns.

And alot of people consider this one of the very best speaker cables. At half the price of F1's suggestion you could consider this a bargain.

Those cables look nice! Any idea what those large tubular things are at the end of each wire? I've seen something similar to these on MIT speaker cables as well - except they were boxy.

Is that deal still on? Does anyone have the link or code for the deal?

So far so good on the Cobalt speaker cables. I know that analog interconnects do make a difference in the final sound you hear coming out of your speakers.. but I had no idea that speaker cables had such an impact too.

I noticed a difference in sound quality right away. I was just using some generic Monster knock off wires running to the Monitor 7B's.

The banana plugs on the Cobalt cables fit nice and snug on the speaker end and the amp end. I like it tight and secure like that.

The sound is a tad brite right now... I hope that settles down in the coming weeks. Highs and mids improved over the old wires... bass output seems to be the same. Plus it did add some depth to the music as well. It's all coming out of the Outlaw Audio 990 pre amp.. which i'm starting to fall in love with now. 2 ch music is beautiful on the 990 pre.

ANyone looking for a good HT pre amp.. should consider the Outlaw 990 pre. It's worth a listen.

Did you get the Locking Banana Plugs ($20 extra) or the regular Banana plugs?

    Did you get these cables?
