Adcom two thumbs up!

Finally got a two channel amp to drive my main speakers. I am using my receiver for the preamp and to drive the center and rear channels. I listen to music in two channel no effect mode and movies in Dolby Digital.
I used to have to run my main speakers in small mode with the sub pre outs driving the lower end. Now I can run the speakers in LARGE mode with the terminals jumpered and boy do they sing!
The details, control, and power are amazing. I think the Yamaha brightness combined with the Adcom mosfet smoothness and the Lsi25's accuracy is a great combo.
The amp is a 2001 GFA-5500(200wpc@8,350wpc@4) model with the detachable cord and I found it on ebay. It looks and sounds like new at one third the price. I got outbid in quite a few auctions before I finally snagged this one.($462)
If you are out there with a just a receiver powering your speakers the amp does make a huge difference. Especially with the Lsi speakers. Sorry for such a long post but .....WOW! I love this hobby. Now i have to relisten to all my music....:D

that more amps are in my future. I want to get some Lsi 7 or FX for the rears and they will enjoy the extra punch. Most of the time I jam in two channel mode but I am keeping my eyes open for a three channel to add to the setup. It never ends and thats a good thing.:) I just have to find a place to hide more amps.

Enjoy the new sound, next step is an adcom 3 channel, prefreably with the same wattage, which can be used to drive the front 3 channels.
I am looking into increasing power as well, instead of new speakers I think I'll go with feeding the 9's with more juice. Enjoy!
