Is it really a big suprise that Monster Cable is misleading the masses?

Roger is a very nice guy to chat with, an absolute wealth of knowledge but we don't agree on everything. I think that his work is important for both sides of the argument. My favorite quote from him... "Hearing is Believing" :D

    Where'd you bump into Roger?

Curious thing to me about the demo set up is the coiled wire runs, which I have always thought was a big "no-no".

I am so sorry Uncle Albert......

Sorry is the hardest word to say.......

    I'm Sorry so Sorry...........

    Ok glad thats over.

I agree 100% Tour, any coiled wire creates resistance and a resulting electro-magnetic field. I dont have time to read the article (i will) but I suppose the larger M wire has less resistance so somehow its rigged to sound better. Not sure why I remember this electronics class but it stuck for some reason.

Interesting.......most people I know would fall for the M* demonstration w/out even giving the whole idea a 2nd thought. Very Very misleading. I believe firmly in cables and wire making a difference, but the M* display is outright deception. Or at the very least "exaggerated deception"; if it's set-up and run as described.

    You forgoit...
    "Who's sorry now..."

Yes, my understanding is that the varying mag field recreates, i.e., inducts, a weak signal mimicking the one that generated it. Problem is it's out of sync with the primary music signal which = noise.

I think a way to further rig the demo would be to wrap the 24 ga around an iron core and the M around a plastic one.

    It's called an inductor.

I've seen a similar display with Monsters power conditioners. Anyone remember the acrylic Bose subwoofers that blew the packing peanuts around inside?

haha! I used to think that was cool :( I remember the styrofoam BB's on the port. Since you can see the bass waveforms ala styrofoam, it had to be the best! :D

I once saw a pair of Pioneer HPM 100's with acrylic cabinets at a stereo show in STL. They were cool.
