Some shots of my new "little amp" on the right hand side. Pretty crappy pictures, but you get the idea. This thing is no slouch :D .

Some better shots :). Nothing fancy, just a pretty basic install that works for me and my family. As you can see my trunk looks like it get alot of use, and it does. Much better without the VCR in the way :D. I plan on making a new amp board as this one is pretty much Swiss cheese now. It has seen many amps on it. Plus the two amps barely fit on there, so with the new board I can squeese a little more room for the amps. Right now they are staggered a little, the smaller one is a little higher up than the other one, this was the only way I could get them to fit on that board.

Are those ratings onthe birth sheets for 2ohm or 4ohm loads? If those are 4ohm oads, and they aren't bridged or anything, that's some serious output!!

Oh, that's a nice, clean looking install, btw.

    Thanks :D..

Those are 2ohm ratings. Still enough juice for me :D. The big amp has very low distortion levels and a very high damping factor, still true if used in the lower impedances. So if I wanted to use it that way, sonically I would not be penalized.

Damn thats some serious power for a 4 channel amp 180 rms watts per channel. Thats enough power to blow any component system. Need to run subs off that thing. Actually for a 4 channel amp the idea power rating would be 100 rms watts per channel. Anymore than that and you are asking for trouble.

I'm with Mr. Bliss on this one!! Just finished up (almost) my system this weekend. I have a 4150-XXK bridged on a set of Dynaudio 240 MK II's (7" woofer/1.1" silk tweeter) and it sure sounds great! My gain is way down, but the juice is there if needed. I'm not one to crank it up for the neighborhood, so I pretty sure my components will live to a ripe old age.

    1996blackmax,
Got some info for ya on the ARC 12" sub you have been thinking about. I am currently giving one a test listen. Have it in a sealed pre-fab box, not sure on the volume, haven't gotten aroud to sizing the box yet. I only have a few hours on it so far, but I am really impressed. Want to let it break-in a bit, then I'll start some more critical listening. This is also being powered by a 4150-XXK (2 channels bridged). Might try a 10" next, see if I can live with the difference to gain a bit of my trunk back. Will keep you informed on my progress to a final decision.

Thanks for keeping me posted on the sub :). The power that your 4150-XXK is giving it is about the same as the power that it will get from my 2100-XXK bridged. I will be paying close attention :D.

Finally cut out another amp rack, not much more room for the amps, but at least the RCA's arent touching the other amp :) .

Very nice, blackmax. The whole install, and the amps themselves, as neo said, all look very clean and simple. I like.

I wanted the amp rack to be black, to better match the amps :D. The color match between the amp and black carpeting is closer than what the pictures show.
