Should I change speaker wire for MMC5250s?

Installing them today and I noticed the Polk wires for the speakers aren't very beefy ... not sure size, prob either 16 or 18 gauge ... should I change them for 12/14 gauge? Need to go out and check for sure but I have 12/14 gauge in the truck right now that will run from the amp to the crossovers.

They are 16 guage. No need to change the wires. The voltage loss in the difference between 14 to 16 guage wire over 6" is going to be so tiny that youll never notice it.

Got 'em installed and they sound great! :) Still need to fine tune, but so far with simple adjustments these sound very nice :)

Just wait til they break in. Ive noticed with all the Polk speakers Ive owned that they tend to start out on the bright side. But after some use and tweaking they come along quite nicely.

Yeah I think I read that on here as well which is why I wasn't worried. It is a bit on the bright side right now, turned down the tweets to -3db which helped, so I hope they break in soon so I can make final adjustments to them.

Youll probably want to go all the way down to -6d b on that attenuator. I have mine bi-amped and the tweets gains are quite a bit lower than the mids.

Ok, will do, thanks. Same here (bi-amped) and the tweet gains are already a bit lower than the mids.
