Ever "Found" Money?

My reply in the radio contest thread prompted this old memory.
Decades ago I the family visited Mon and Dad on vacation. At the end, as usual the folks slipped me a couple hundred to help defray travel expenses. I looked for a place to tuck it away in safe place for the flight home and found a few candidates (none of which involved use of a body cavity, thank you).
Anyway got home and did not unpack for a couple days and search as I might I could not find the cash. Man, I mean I tore apart everything that we carried on that place... Nada.
Fast forward a decade or so and I was going through a cabinet and came across my old Cannon 35mm with it's telephoto lens and flash attachment. Took the flash out for a look and noticed the case it was in seemed a little stiff. When I felt inside a little pocket on the outside of the case...WhaLa... Found money in the form of four, crisp, tightly folded fifties.
By the time of the discovery I was single and the lone kid was out of college, so it was 100% mine. I have no idea now what I spent it on, but hope it was something firmly in the want vs. need category. The only place found money should be used.
Somewhere around here is a fine Zippo I put away several years ago when I quit smoking for the 17th time or so... Wanted to keep it out of sight and apparently did a hell of a job...

Yeah its cool when stuff like that happens! Back in 1986-87 I was walking across a large parking lot on a windy day and out of nowhere a 5 or 10 (cant remember which) dollar bill stuck to my leg ! No one was around that was chasing it either! Very cool bonus!
I have often found the occasional 20 lurking about in small pockets of jackets/coats and other items with little compartments. I dont know if it is some kind of "hoarding" dysfunction that I have or perhaps it shows that I no longer respect the value of a dollar! (I hope not!!)
Now where did I put that 50?2 Channel Rig

A few weeks ago I was walking around campus and saw a 10 laying on the ground with nobody around to claim it. For some reason I didn't pick it up. I just hope somebody in a more desperate position than I picked it up.George Grand wrote: »

A few years back I found $410 that the NC state held for my mother. It was money her deceased husband's lawyer had and turned it over to the state.>

Gosh Bruce, if my parents gave me $200, I'd never have put it in my wallet or pocket.
When these guys talk about your musical tastes and speaker re-positioning fetish, they're barely scratching the surface of your true freakiness aren't they? -
Trust me George, you don't know the HALF of it. What you are seeing here is beyond sanitized.

Did you think you were going to get mugged on the airplane?
-
LOL... Possible... Maybe the potential presense of Air Marshalls help explain why I'd probably carry that much on a flight these days.
But truthfully no (and this is not going to help my case), more like I was afraid of losing it. Emptying pockets at security, wiggling my **** around while attempting to get comfortable in the then even tighter, coach seating, etc. Again, I'm much better now...
Of course losing it is more or less what happened... temporarily.... if you consider a decade temporary.More later,
