He probably wants to remain in the background, but I need to tell you about the caliber of individual we have here. I just received a letter and a check from Fred. Here are the contents of the letter, word for word:

“Hi George,

Enclosed is a small check with blank pay-to. You can either write the organization name and forward to them or deposit in your account and give to them when you make the next donation.

Thanks!!

Fred V.”

This is NOT a small amount or check. Fred has purchased vinyl from me and is aware that the proceeds are going to the handicapped children at Tiffany’s old school. This check is above and beyond any payments he has made to me for vinyl. I just wanted the rest of the forum to know that for every wangotango or iamgod in this world, there is a Fred V. also, and that’s what is keeping me relatively sane. I am not soliciting donations, you guys contribute quite helpfully when you purchase from me. Fred is not a frequent poster from what I can see, but he is the essence of this Polk Forum brotherhood, and I wish there were a lot more people like him on this earth.

Fred, you’ve never met me or my beautiful girl, but I love you sir from the bottom of my heart.

My deepest gratitude,

George

Fred is a real nice guy, as I've dealt with him as well.

Guys like Fred far outway the few bad seeds that we've had here and what make this forum worth coming back to day after day.

I've never delt with Fred personally but I have delt with many here just like him.

Man, I need to find a hole to hide!! Quite frankly, I am really nobody. Being a father of 2 beautiful girls, it is very difficult for me to hear the children that are not as fortunate as Tiffany (yes, my older one's name is also Tiffany!!) and Tacita and not doing anything. When I bought the vinyls from George, my intention was just to buy something for my own enjoyment. It is someone like George to pull the strings to make that happened. I am not the one who has a big heart ....

Oops, your right Fred. Sorry about that. I'll be the first to admit, my memory sucks.

    "In giving, we receive".

Nice, FredV. We can never be sure of what will grow from the seeds we sow. Although you planted on pretty fertile ground here, the seeds you've sown would grow on bare rock.

"Farmer" FredV. I kind of like the sound of that.

Kind of makes me think that it would be nice if all the Polkies "paid it forward" and did something nice this week, something beyond their normal pale.

Just one thing. No more. No less. Nothing spectacular, necessarily, just one extra act of kindness. Or goodness. Or thoughfulness. Or gentleness.

    Nice. :)
