Higgins - I own the 2250, I purchased it on a whim during the closeout of The Good Guys. I couldn't pass the 50% off. My only regret. I didn't buy the 3250, and another 2250 to Bi-amp my SRS 1.2's. Another 2250 is on my short list to get this year. You will not be dissapointed. I have had the power meters peg over 500W on both sides during dynamic passages of movies, and it never ever seems to be the limit on this amp.

    Good Luck

The design is outsourced, but the monster stigma stays. So- resale sucks, but they're cheap on the used market.

gives me something to think about. i was thinking about getting two of the outlaw monoblock amps one for each of my rti12s but the deal on the monster amp seemed good i just was unsure of it due to the "bad" name monster seems to have on alot of forums. anyway time to empty the piggy bank i can't go for ever powering my speakers with just the avr. thanks guys!

You'll have to look at the specs fo the amps you're interested in to know for sure. Generally eight inches above the amp and 1-2 on the sides.

Definitely give it plenty on top. The sides will vary; look for any vent or heat sinks on the sides... for example, Adcoms generally don't have any, so they'd be fine with not much clearance.
