What is the best tool to strip speaker wires from its casing? I bought a tool at Fry's, but doesn't work all that great. I am using monster speaker wires, bought as a spool. Yes, I realize that some of you might say, monster is not the way to go, but it was a great deal for a 100 feet of speaker cable.:D

Thank you,

I have the QuikStrip that I bought from an infomercial on TV, it works quite well, and leaves you with a clean "strip"....

Looks like the price has come down from the TV price of 19.99:D

I don't know if you have a Lowe's around you, but you should be able to get what you need for around $8. Just make sure that if you have 10 gauge wire, that you purchase one that strips 10 gauge stranded and not solid-core. More often than not, it will make the distinction on the package.
I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. Just remember, they can buy anything but they can't buy backbone. Don't let them forget it. Thank you.Herman Blume - Rushmore

I was wondering about that one during its run a while back...

    2Learn,
Sears is where I buy almost all my hand tools. Good prices, big selection and great warranty.

With wire strippers, just don't opt for the cheapest, get one with a little heft.
    More later,

    .

It is probably the only thing that I have bought off TV that I actually still use. I have the Jack Lalane (sp?) juicer that is sitting in the cupboard..:D
