Opinion Needed - To Sell or Not To Sell, that is the question
Alright, so I need some help from the Polk forum all-star team ...
I am on the verge of getting a true hi-end stereo system (B&W speakers with Krell electronics) and before I realized it I had spent more money than I budgeted for or anticipated!
The question is - what should I do with my home theater system?
http://www.polkaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?t=39648
It's just 3 months old and I'm hoing to get atleast $1200-$1400 for it (including all the speaker stands, relatively good quality monster cables etc.)
I don't watch too many movies and while I do enjoy multi-channel music, it would be good to get back some of the out-of-budget money that I ended up spending on the stereo system.
So what do you folks think? Should I hang onto my multi-channel system or sell it?? I know it is a personal and financial decision but I wanted to get some help in making a rather difficult choice.
The only reason I would think of selling the 5.1 setup is financial since I do love this setup and will never invest (or afford) in a full B&W home theater setup.
Thanks in advance!

are you willing to sell these pieces separately? I might be interested in the
30'sI never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. Just remember, they can buy anything but they can't buy backbone. Don't let them forget it. Thank you.Herman Blume - Rushmore -
Piece them out on ebay. I've noticed lately that the listing (supply) for Polk speakers has slowed down, so you should be able to get top dollar right now. I never keep the speakers when upgrade. I always go ahead and sell them on Ebay since they are worth more today than they will be worth tomorrow!
The only issue I have ran into is packing the larger ones up. If you have the original boxes it's a snap, but otherwise it might be difficult to find boxes for your floor standing speakers. Don't be shy to build your own box with cardboard and duct tape, though. Also, you can print your USPS or UPS shipping labels from Paypal which I use everytime. If you're using the original packaging you can use the shipping weight spec found here on the Polk site, but if you are using your own packaging just use a digital bathroom scale and round up to the nearest whole #.
I hope that helps. I've had a lot of turnover in my HT due to upgrade-itus!Fronts: DIY Statements from htguide.com

Well I do have all the original boxes so shipping won't be a problem - I will try local buyers initially - saves me from the hassle of shipping these large boxes!
But I guess I still need to decide if I'm selling these or not.Distant Dream - A New Beginning
