7.1 setup for gaming

I'm just wondering if anyone experimented with using monopoles vs dipole/bipole speakers for 7.1 gaming setups? I have LSI9 / LSI7 / LSIC doing 5.1 now and will move up to 7.1 in the next year or so... anyone have any opinions on going with LSiFXs vs LSi7s for good sound localization?
