Hi guys,
Im new here but have had Polks for a long time in home and in my jeep. Cant beleive I have been missing this forum for so long. My question is this..... I have a Denon 3801 receiver with new RTi10s in the front, PSW 1000 sub, Fxi5s surrounds, and my center is CS400i. My question is this...... with my receiver what should I keep each channel level set at? zero for each channel? Also with the new sub I got, where should at set it at as far as the Hz? Any and all setup help would be awsome! Thanks guys, DJ

Go to Radio Shack and ask for an SPL meter. (they have analog and digital - I have only used analog, but they both will work) it will run you about $35 or so. You will use this (in conjunction with a setup DVD like Avia or Video Essentials, or the test tones in your avr if you don't have a setup DVD) to set the channels to the same volume level. The channel level is what you will use to set that volume.

Turn the crossover on your sub all the way up (or turn it off if that is an option) and set the crossover in your AVR to 80hz for all channels. Use that as your baseline, listen to a few movies and cd's like that and then try and move it up or down and see if you like it any better. 80hz is a great starting point though.

How do you like your PSW1000? I have not heard of many people with that sub. Is that the one that replaced the LSiW (Polks top sub with wood venier sides?)

    Well,
I had a PSW 1200 up until a few days ago when it dumped out on me, I had it for about 6 years and I think the amp is done. So I figured ill just go get a new one and after listiening to a lot of diffrent subs at Tweeter I choose this one, the PSW1000. Im glad I did, this baby is nice and tight, and a LOT smaller than the the 1200. I personially think that the 1000 is much better than the 1200 was in my room. So to answer your question...... I am very happy with it. Would have rather not spent $1000 for a sub, but what the hell right. Oh yeah, I also just bought my RTi10s which are awsome just as much.
