Just wondering if anyone here is bidding on these? I'm thinking about putting in a bid closer to the end if they don't get too high. I've decided when I take the SDA plunge the 3.1tl is really just right for my room. They are local which is why I'm considering them; I won't ever have speakers shipped. If others are more interested let me know. I'm still on the fence and really won't pay the absolute top dollar for these. I'm not in a position right now to expend a lot of cash. I need to learn to stay off e-bay when funds are low :p .

There seems to be a lot of views already and some serious activity.

For those interested, you can check this thread about them. I went out and looked at them. This is the same person that sold HTRookie both his 1.2 and 1.2tl's.

I have not been out there recently, but it is very close to my house. If anyone needs me to store them for a while (or help load them) just ask.

Best of luck - as I remember the cabinets were in very good condition. When they were on Agon, he was hoping to get $600 for them. It will be interesting to see what e-bay brings him.

Thanks Michael. It seemed there was something familiar about Eureka, IL and SDA's I just couldn't put my finger on it.

Those tweeters on e-bay appear black. 3.1TL's are supposed to have a silver looking SL3000 tweeter. These aren't original. FYI.

They are an SL3000 tweeter. (the tweeter looked the same as the ones in his 1.2tl's anyway) I suppose he could have changed them since I was there, but I thought they were SL3000's. (kind of a dark copper color)

Anyway - if anyone needs me to stop by and check these out for them (or get more photos) just ask.

Doug and Michael thanks for the offers. I'm going to keep an eye on these, but seriously doubt they are going to go for the kind of money I have in mind. If someone else really wants these, I'll step aside. I think one of the bidders pmlewis is a member here and I see he has put in a bid.

Comes down to the usual right opportunity, right location, wrong time to be considering these. Tax time sucks for me and I have to keep that in mind so I don't go crazy trying to get these and then have nothing left to pay Uncle Sam.

Those speakers are really beautiful; I don't remember seeing any mark on them.....though I was paying more attention to the big boys...

I do remember they had a bad driver; when I picked up the 1.2 TL's, I had to remove one driver from the 3.1's that had been borrowed from the 1.2's....

H9, it might be worth asking if he got the new driver from Polk.....

    Good luck.

Keep rubbing it in :D:) . Yes, perfect opportunity because these are exactly the SDA I'm looking for. They are local so no shipping (I won't have speakers shipped). So far they seem to better than average looking, even if they have a driver issue. Do you think I can listen to these in the County jail after I get nabbed for tax evasion? :D . If these were only available a couple months from now.

Lots of interest in these babies, already over 1000 views in just 3 days. Lots of questions and lots of praise. These aren't going to be the "sleepers" I thought they might be.

Here's the link again for those interested in following these.

The sleeper factor is local pickup. Right location, right timing, right $$$ usually holds back these, as noone will pay the $400 flat rate shipping cost.

Ask to see the speakers and take cash. No foul if you aren't already a bidder.
