Okay, liked the album, "Rainbow Bridge" by Jimi Hendrix. Couple of tracks on there I love and are primo.
So, when scouring DVDs4Less (or whatever it is called) I came across the DVD, "Rainbow Bridge". The original theatrical release, re-mastered and on DVD (Dolby 5.1).
In case you missed the orginal theatrical release in 1971, I guess you were busy that day and missed it as did I. It wasn't in the theaters for long.
Any-who, I bought it, it came last Friday, and we watched it yesterday.
My kids reaction/review: "What's this movie about ?", "What's going on ?",
and "Jeeez, Dad !".
Well, the first 2 minutes of the movie are black screen with a voiceover. The voiceover, summarized, tells us that the kids of today (circa 1970) are in "touch with the space people" who are here to bring peace and love, etc, etc.
I kept asking my kids if they "were hearing the space people yet ?".
They pretended like they were annoyed, but I knew better. The space people were getting to them !!
The movie followed one "chick" who made her way to Hawaii, and some hippie commune where Jimi Hendrix actually held his last concert.
Flashes of "Power to the People" fists abound in this movie, and boots should be worn while viewing due to the abundance of BS.
But you know what ? As I tell my kids, that's the kind of crap that went on back then.
....that and they better listen to the space people !!
Worth buying. It's a hoot, and it does have Jimi Hendrix.
As "fair and balanced" as the original "Billy Jack" movie.
