I'm thinking about buying an Outlaw Audio pre/pro 990 and the website says it has 2-channel subwoofer offset. Does that mean I can hook up 2 subs to it? Or can I only hook up one sub. Can somebody tell me what that means?
Receiver: Onkyo TX-SR503 75 x 7
Fronts: Polk Audio Monitor 40 (Triangled toward "me" Bi-wired)
Center: Polk Audio CS1
Surrounds: Paradigm Cinema ADP (At corners above couch about 3 feet)
Subwoofer: Velodyne VRP-1200

I'm gettin the Polk Audio LSi series and an Outlaw Audio 990 pre/pro and an Outlaw Audio 7700 amp. What all should I run on the amp? All of it? Just the front speakers? What?

The amp connects to the preamp via 7 rca interconnects, very simple to do. Your speakers (all seven of them) then connect to the amp.

The 990 can send an LFE signal to two seperate subs, again a very simple connection.

If you are looking into that pre amp, I would also consider the Sherwood Newcastle P-965. It is similar to the outlaw, but has auto eq. Actually outlaw is using the sherwood design and reselling it as their own.
    Speakers: LSi9 x 2, LSic, LSiFX x 2, Velodyne HGS-15
    Amps & Power: Rockford Fosgate T8004 x 3, Cascade Audio APS-55 power supplies x 5, and 1 farad capacitor.
    Electronics: Denon 3806, Toshiba HD-A1, & Sony KDL46XBR2
Accessories: Anti-IC interconnects, 8 Mondo Traps from Realtraps, and Salamander furniture.

The 2-channel subwoofer offset is a function that allows you to decrease the subwoofer level output for only when you are listening to 2-channel stereo. They have this since some people find the subwoofer to be too loud when listening in stereo.
But, it does have 2 subwoofer outputs, both are the same exact signal (mono), just allows you to easily hookup 2 subs.
You can also hook up the 990 via balanced XLR connections, which I personally recommend, but not needed.

Then he might as well get the Outlaw & save himself $400.00. He can pickup a Radio Shack spl meter & do that himself.

Another nice thing about the 990/7700 combo is that you can connect them together with balanced interconnects rather than straight RCA cables. This should help eliminate any problems with hum or cable/power interference.

I agree somewhat. I have the P-965 and I have not gotten the EQ added because I have read that not even truly Nolan can get rid of the bugs in it. I think it's more important to treat them room correctly first anyhoo.
