Best subwoofer
What would be a really good brand of a subwoofer that provides clean, crystal clear, tight bass?

I think I've got my eyes on 2 HSU VTF-3 MK 2 subs. I'm getting an Outlaw Audio 990 pre/pro and it has 2 sub outputs. Is there really any better sub for under 1,000?Receiver: Onkyo TX-SR503 75 x 7

you could probably find a deal for a Velodyne SPL-1000R for around $1000Speakers: LSi9 x 2, LSic, LSiFX x 2, Velodyne HGS-15
Amps & Power: Rockford Fosgate T8004 x 3, Cascade Audio APS-55 power supplies x 5, and 1 farad capacitor.
Electronics: Denon 3806, Toshiba HD-A1, & Sony KDL46XBR2
Accessories: Anti-IC interconnects, 8 Mondo Traps from Realtraps, and Salamander furniture. -

If you can squeeze it.. the SVS PB12+/2 would rock.Magico M2, JL113v2x2, EMM, ARC Ref 10 Line, ARC Ref 10 Phono, VPIx2, Lyra Etna, Airtight Opus1, Boulder, AQ Wel&Wild, SRA Scuttle Rack, BlueSound+LPS, Thorens 124DD+124SPU, Sennheiser, Metaxas R2R

If you don't care about looks SVS has the CS/Ultra line. They look like ugly carpeted tubes but I hear they sound awesome.Home Theater In Progress

Anthem Statement A5

Surround LSI-FX
Getting closer to complete!:D -
Then don't get the tubes.... Get one of the veneered boxes, they look as nice as anything.
Check out avs123.com for 2 UFW10 fo $1K. Can hang with the PB12+2 down to about 22Hz and look better for less moneyThere is no genuine justice in any scheme of feeding and coddling the loafer whose only ponderable energies are devoted wholly to reproduction. Nonono... the UFW10 CANNOT hang with the PB12+/2 down to 22hz. No way. The UFW10 drops like a rock under 30hz while the PB12+/2 can be tuned to go 20hz with 1 port plug and still have way more output at the 22hz mark relative to 2 UFW10.
Even the UFW12 cant hang as it starts to hit too high of a THD as Ed reviewed on the av123 forum.Magico M2, JL113v2x2, EMM, ARC Ref 10 Line, ARC Ref 10 Phono, VPIx2, Lyra Etna, Airtight Opus1, Boulder, AQ Wel&Wild, SRA Scuttle Rack, BlueSound+LPS, Thorens 124DD+124SPU, Sennheiser, Metaxas R2R -

Check out Craigsubs reviews on AVS and HTspot. His study is in room, calibrated reponse and two of them vs 1 PB12+2. This is much different from what Ed does. For the size and looks, it's a hell of a package if you can't hanlde the size and the extra $300 of the PB12+2.
From my ownership of the SVS and experience with Dual UFw10's, I find no fault in his statements. They do fall like a rock around 22-25 Hz thoughThere is no genuine justice in any scheme of feeding and coddling the loafer whose only ponderable energies are devoted wholly to reproduction. I have a middle quality Velodyne sub and ya know what I really like it pretty well and I end up getting a SLP sub while I've never heard SVS before I have to say that my fav sub might be Velodyne
Y'all r right about Polk Audio subs. I went to my local Circuit City and listened to a PSW12. Although it was only a low level sub, it still sounded like ****. I dunno maybe a top of the line Polk Audio sub would sound good though.Receiver: Onkyo TX-SR503 75 x 7

I'd go with the SVS being that my HSU sub is the best they have ever made and they don't make them anymore...but I do like my 1220 over SVS because of its musicality
