Does anyone know anything about this Sunfire amp? I was told that it is one of the origional amps made by Sunfire. Origionally purchased in 96. It has some kind of "tracking downconverter" power supply. Would this be something worth having to power a pair of LSi15's or is it something that I should stay away from?

That is a piece of crap that you should stay away from. I'll gladly take it off of your hands and dispose of it properly.

The tracking downconverter is the basis of all Sunfire amps new and old.

Good amp, will do just fine with any speaker.

Sunfire is the new company that emerged from the old Carver. They make very good equipment. If the price is good, go for it. You should be pleased with the sound.

What would be a good price? Any idea? I haven't been shopping long enough to know myself. The seller is the origional owner. He used it with his B&W 801's until 2000 and it's been stored since then...

Noticed you already bought it 4 hours ago. Before you asked if you should stay away from it.

I went ahead and took a chance and bought it. Hopefully, I can sell it and recoupe most of my money if I don't like it. If I didn't pay too much that is...

So you were not truthful. In my opinion you should not try to "bait" members here, especially those that read-alot.

Actually Ebay should be treated as a binding contract. You would want the same. If the price is $725, that is about ballpark correct. Some may go a tad less, some may go a tad more.
Sounds like maybe you got caught up in the last minute bidding war and were just verifying you didn't pay too much.
Easier just to say that in the first place. I'm sure most of us have been there in the final chase and gone over our highest intended bid.
As stated earlier. I think your going to like it, hard to do much better in that price range.

Yup and any ebayer with 75 feedback points should know that.

If the "nicks" are not too bad, price is on the lower end of the range for the 300 wpc model. A year ago most went for $800+. And the original box is a plus....
    More later,

True, but if the seller misrepresents the item in either the listing or in emails regarding the item, the contract is no longer binding. The help that you guys gave was in line with what the seller was telling me so I sent payment. Thanks a bunch. You guys are a very valuable resourse. I couldn't find any info anywhere on the web about it. At least not about the "first edition".

No bidding war, I just got lucky. :)
