Went out yesterday and got a "new" car. A 2005 Scion Tc. Has 9000 miles on it, and drives like a dream....here are some Pics.

Real nice! I love the Tucson area, haven't been there for a while. The only thing about the car is the color. Black in the desert sun:eek: Black seats, sand on the black. I dunno great car, looks great, stay cool if you can.:D

Thanks fellas! I have to say that this vehicle is a blast to drive. The twin-cam, 16-valve, 2.4-liter engine has some real nice acceleration to it. I can get from 0-50 in no time flat.

Too bad it's got an automatic.

There was a manual transmission one there also but I am to lazy, plus it does have a slip shift auto, so you can use it like a manual...a la the mitsubishi ecliplse. That is why the auto transmision shift looks jagged.

    Toxis,
I picked mine up for 18,000 with taxes title and license. They wanted 21,999, I got them down to 19,500 they gave me 4,000 for my wrecke, **** **** wifes Malibu. PLus I added a 6 year 100,000 mile warrenty on top of the factory.

Brett...lol I did not get it at a Scion dealership. It has a lot of upgrades. Wheels, ground effects kit, front fogs, low miles. So it all added up, plus the demand for the vehicle has really gone higher in the last 6 months...but that is according to Scion owners, so who knows there.

    stock wheels are an upgrade?

those are really nice cars though. My coworker just bought an 06 tc and it moves. Itll spin its tires all the way into third gear. Plus it has the option of the turbo(or is it supercharger?) from the factory that you can get added on later if you dont buy it with it...good stuff. That, and the rear seats recline...which is cool in itself.

Its a supercharger. that Tc has the same 4 banger as the one found in the Camry. Thats why it's ballsy, anyone drive the 4 banger camry? not the fastest car but it will definitly get out of its own way fast. now put the same engine in a car...what...500lbs lighter at least? there ya go.

the supercharger option adds 3000.00 to the price, but bumps HP to 200, which, for that car, is almost silly.

Brett, I have to assume that 22k used Tc has the supercharger option, its the only thing that makes sence to me.

First off those are not stock wheels, they are the upgraded Enkei EMX wheels. And I do not have the SCharger upgrade. Here in AZ it is in real high demand. Like I said I got them down 1500, at the Scion Dealership they are averaging abou 22,900 for the 2005 with a lot more miles than I had on mine, and they are all stock vehicles....no wheels, fog lights etc....

So when doing the mental math I felt like I was getting a fair deal. Not one ding, not one scratch, smoke free vehicle, everything is pristine. Hell the engine is not even broken in yet.

yeah, a girlie mon at my work just got a new tc. she's in love and i cannot lie, i love the looks of it as well. she was saying the used are almost in higher demand than brand new because the customer has to wait a few weeks for scion to 'custom build' your car for you. most peeps don't wanna wait. i liked scion from the get-go. but when i found out they were made by toyota........phew! love 'em.

The other thing Bizill I noticed is that the Xa, and Xb you can get for a reasonable price. The tC seems to be the car people want. Not that the Xa or Xb are bad, it's just like the Celica for Toyota. People love that car, the value holds, and you rarely see one for sale. In the paper they had one Scion for sale last week, and it was the one I bought. No Xb, Xa...nothing. Local dealerships had a total of six used tC's.

The xB and xA are ugly. The Tc is popular because it's the only good-looking oe out of the bunch. And I don't like the Celica. I'd much rather have a RXS. Actually, I'd much rather have an RSX than a tC. Just out of curiousity, did you ever consider the RSX? If so, why did you decide against it?

What about the GTI from VW? Or the GLI? I personally haven't driven a better car in that price range. With their new Direct Shift Gearbox, the tranny is the smoothest ever invented. Blows the competition outta the water, and then sunbathes in the mists!

Yeah the scions are unilaterally priced if they are new. And 17,900 sounds about right for a stock tC.

    http://scion.com/showroom/tc/pricing/

So according to Scion with all my upgrades the price somes out to 22,929. (this is when I hit build you own on the top of the page)

I did see the RSX but all of them were new. And the ones we liked did not have all the options we wanted. So we actually never even sat in one.

Before you buy a single new car, you own yourself to at least take the GTI (2-door) or the GLI (4 door. Same engine same everything except design of body-style) out for a nice long spin. Drive it hard. Drive it fast. You deserve to know what a sports car with this much elegance, yet ample power can do.

I won't buy another car except the GLI. It's got 4 doors, big enough for a family, but it blows the BMW 3 series outta the water. And for quite a bit less. I was always a HUGE fan of the M3. Still love the body styling, but after driving both, the GLI kicks its arse so far across the dealership lot, it's not even funny.

Barron's off of I-35 and Shawnee Mission Pkwy, has VW's and BMW's. Give yourself an afternoon, and test drive both and decide for yourself. You will walk away impressed that such a VW can give you such power and handling.

Yep I agree, and I would have purchased one. I love the GTI's. But man my wife despises them. She wanted to steer me more to a Jetta/Passat. Which I do like, but I wanted something more sportier.
