Great read....good to know some of my favorite choices as far as well recorded cd's are on their list.

The best example that comes to mind is Talking Heads-Stop Making Sense. If you don't own it, get it. Superb digital transfer. This is a benchmark for how it should be done all the time.

Why are we looking to reduce a subjective experience to objective criteria anyway? The subtleties of music and audio reproduction are for those who appreciate it. Couldn't agree more. Probably my favorite cd. Newly released version is expanded to include the whole soundtrack from the original movie which is also a classic.

One of my reference CD's is Steely Dan "2 Against Nature." Talk about a benchmark recording--beautiful.

Of the CDs on that list that I also own, I must say they are absolutely correct.

Steely Dan and Fagen's 3 solo albums are all top notch recordings.

Same with all of Lyle Lovett's stuff.

2 great artists, and reference quality recordings to boot. They spend a lot of the time in rotation at my house.

If you like the CD, you'll love the DVD...

Interesting list... surprising how many 30+ year old recordings are on there.
    More later,

If you like the CD and love the DVD, you'll play with yourself after hearing the LP! The LP has been listed several places on the asylum as one of "the" LP's to own.
