Beginners Question?

I'm currently remodeling my home. I have a unique Mid Century Modern home that is very open/vaulted. I have a set of the Polk Audio 6800 series. I was curious if any of you could recomend the best location for my sub. I would like to put it in a small walk in closet that is adjacent to the living room where the system will be used. From what I've read this is a bad idea, Just curious if there were any locations that I could hide the sub so that it is not setting out in the open. I want to thank you all in advance.

    Go to a Bose showroom and ask one of those guys what to do - whatever they say, do the oppsite.

    I would put my sub out in the room and proudly display it. So if you cant do that call Polk they have a great in wall sub which is ideal for remodels or new construction.

    Since you are in the midst of remodeling, and are looking for stealth installation, I would look to the in walls/in floors. I have heard them personally, and they do a very good job.

    Info on the Polk offerings can be found on this site, or you could go the DIY route.

    If you want to use the closet, you could use it for an infinite baffle set up. That would probably be overkill for your purposes.

    Depending on the size of the sub and the TV set-up, it may be possible to put it behind the TV as well.

    Not to change the topic, but dude... that house you are redoing is in OP, KS isn't it? I am in the house flipping business as well, and I saw this house when it was on the market in January! this is just crazy.. I was like, cool he's fixing this place up.. and then I looked closer, and wouldn't you believe it, it is the same one!

    Keep me posted! This is exciting to get to see the house renovated. I love the changes that will take place in such a house!

    You gonna live in it, or flip it?

    Have you heard the in-wall sub? Looks interesting to me. Any idea of how it performs compared to others at its pricepoint? (of course, they can charge more for the added value of being built into the wall.)

    Mr. Nightly, thanks for the interest in my project. I plan on living in it, its just to expensive of a project to flip immediately. Everyone else thanks alot for you suggestions, I've looked into all of the solutions you've mentioned.
    I think from a budget standpoint I'm going to have to live with the sub I have and deal with being able to see it from the living room
