Component cable splitting

Does any one know if there is a huge disadvantage of splitting a component cable from a dvd player going to two 32 LCD TV's 15 ft away? My other option is 2 HDMI cables with a splitter and that is expensive.

What do you plan on splitting it with? If you're thinking y-connectors, it probably won't work. A cheap distribution amp should do the trick just fine.Gallo Ref 3.1 : Bryston 4b SST : Musical fidelity CD Pre : VPI HW-19

in testing i have used y splitters and it works just fine but wanted other opinions.Receiver Yamaha 3070 *Emotiva xpa5 * Behringer iNuke 6000dsp *Monster Cable HTS 3500 -- line conditioner * Panamax 5300 * Apple 4K * Panasonic UB820 * JVC NX5 * Silver Ticket thin bezel 120”

If you have no loss of picture quality, and your satisifed with the setup, go for it. The other option is an A/B switching box. It will cost about $20, you can even get one with a remote for more money. I don't think there is any advantage of doing it this way.Carl

Rock on, then. The signal is based on voltage, so splitting the signal keeps the same voltage on each wire... However, you half the current and make each line more prone to noise. Some DVD player can push that, most can't. So- if you switch out your DVD player or TV and suddenly things don't work so hot, then you'll have to invest in the DA.Gallo Ref 3.1 : Bryston 4b SST : Musical fidelity CD Pre : VPI HW-19

the noise would be the only real concern there...i would just go with the dhmi provided that they actually work in your system...but that's my personal opinion.currently in car:

AEM V2 cold air induction
c400.4 amp powering a pair of momo 6500's
and a pair of momo 6x9's
alpine monoblock amp powering a jl w3 12''
custom fab work for tweeters

I would go for a box I just saw one on e-bay today for $22
you can probably find something like this in your local radioshak
