I found a B&K ST-1430 3 channel amp for less than $300 and I'm wondering if I should go ahead and snag it. It's 105 watts x 3 with gain controls for each channel. Let me know what you guys think. Thanks.

Mid 90's, doesn't exactly match their current reference series, but comes close. Price is good- they're usually closer to $400-$450.Gallo Ref 3.1 : Bryston 4b SST : Musical fidelity CD Pre : VPI HW-19

Hi,
I just bought a B&K ST-202 from sleezbay. It sounds very good, smoothed out the midrange and great bass. It is 140 watts/ch. I paid $320 plus shipping but the seller didnt include a fuse holder or the power cord so I am still waiting for the $75 discount to make things good. I thought it might be the right kind of amp to tame the brightness in my system and I was right.Main system: Lyngdorf TDAI 2170 w/ Pioneer 42" plazma-> Polk LSiM 703 w/Tivo, Marantz tuner, BRPTT: Nothingham Spacedeck-> Pioneer PL L1000 linear arm-> Soundsmith DL 103R-> SUT->Bottlehead ErosDigital: I3 PC w/ Jriver playing flac -> Sonore Ultrarendu -> Twisted Pair Audio ESS 9028 w/ Mercury IVY Vinyl rips: ESI Juli@24/192-> i3 PC server -
B&K makes some nice sounding amps. Fairly warm and nuetral in sound. Good current driving capability. I have used the ST-140 with good results. Currently running the B&K EX-442 Sonata on my SDA-1C's with very nice results.
Sounds like a good price for that amp. Buy it, and if it doesn't quite fit you should be able to turn it at a similiar price. I think you'll like it.The Family

I still own a B&K EX4420 and have owned other B&K amps too. Nice warm sound with plenty of power. -
Never met a B&K I didn't like. I know of know junk B&K products. Still using my 7270, its never batted an eye at anything I have thrown its way.

I have one, too. I like it very much. Warm side of neutral, plenty of power, excellent repsonse.
You'd probably like it.
