Hey everybody,

I posted a couple of months back about some vintage Heathkit tube gear that was given to me. Well today I got to go through the rest of the box and came across 2 Genalex kt66 tubes. Still in the box and still in the cardboard sleeve.( they appear to be in excellent condition). Does anybody know of these tubes and if they are worth anything? I can do some surfing later this evening but thought maybe you guys could save me some work. They are also a handfull of smaller Realistic tubes in "common" sizes but I don't suppose they have too much value or interest. Mostly German, Polish and Japanese origin in Realistic boxes. Thanks for any help

kevin:)

Worth a lot of money. If what you have are NOS and matched, they're worth even more. Hold on to them. Use a different KT66 for your Heathkit. The Saratov and Chinese KT66 are Genalex copies. I really like the Sovtek KT66 too.

    Nice find.

I've got a big box full of Genelex 66 and 88's. One day I will either use them, or sell them, but I can't bring myself to either just yet for some reason.

    Russ,
Hold on to them for as long as you can. When the used and NOS supplies are dry, ebay them and sleep on a bed covered with $100 bills:).

Thanks for the replies. I don't know what I'm going to do . Hold on to them for now I guess. Maybe I can flip them for some speaker wire though. Ummm?

DON'T trade them for speaker wires. Tube rolling, IMO, have a much bigger impact on sound than swapping speaker wires.

Yea I know but I don't have the amp part yet:o Got the tubes but not the amp. But it is probably the best move to put them away and save for later
