Nice, real nice. You have great taste. I also was looking at the Butler amps. It looks like he makes killer stuff & has great reviews to back him up. However I was swayed in another direction after finding AVAHIFI.COM. Frank Van Alstine is the owner & has been building great gear for almost 40 yrs. The price difference is what won me over. Frank recommended his OmegaStar440EX (220x2 $1499) to me. It wasn't even his most expensive amp but he thinks it will be perfect for my system. Both Butler & AVA have home trial periods & I plan on taking full advantage of it. My amp should be here around Easter. He builds to order & takes 4-5 wks. Hopefully I will be impressed enough to make the purchase. If not satisfied the amp goes back & I will most likely try the Butler. A fine list of celebs have Butler gear, Elton John, ZZ Top to name a few. Kind of cool being in their company especially when they could afford the mega-buck amps. When do you expect delivery & please give a review once your up & running w/ the TDB 2250. I am very curious on your findings.

Received amp today and in the first few hours of listening, all I can say is
OH MY @%*!#$& GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Great match for me,the highs and vocals stand out, notes just float and has good bass too,not muddy but refined.Haven't tryed it out on DVD'S yet but can't wait.Right out of the box
this thing sounds fantastic!!Wish it had balanced IC's though.Picked mine up
at a dealer demo for 2250.$ A steal at that price.I cranked on it to ear bleeding levels and no distortion, just clear as a bell and these Legacy
focus can play loud!!Run and demo one.More reviews will be comming out after the next show,I guess alot of dealers will be useing these to demo
their speakers,so I am told.If I had to knock it,I would say it is a tad bit
bright but in no way harsh.Just finished with Ray Charles Genius Loves Company.Swear to god on some tracks you can hear there lips come apart before they say a word.Comparisons ???? Haven't demoed alot but my other
choices were the Mccormack DNA500 or the BAT VK500,both outstanding in there own right.Just could not find one at a decent price. The old lady is out of town for a few days so I imagine I will be in the dog house for a while.More later, gots to go throw in another CD.  :D:D:D:D

Sounds like you just had sex w/ your new amp!!! After all the better half is out of town, right? I'd take it that you're tickled pink w/ your new purchase. Congrats!!! it's nice to hear someone get so excited. The price you paid is right up my alley. How did you find a dealer? I thought they only sold over the net. For that kind of money I am extremely interested. Does your demo unit also get the 10 day trial period?
    Thanks & ENJOY

Glad to hear you're enjoying the Butler. I've heard great things about them. We demand pics, dammit.

BTW -- if the Butler still sounds a bit bright after you break it in, just roll the tubes. Problem solved.

I had read a good review of the Butler TDB 5150 5 channel amp in The Absolute sound. It seems to be the best of both worlds. If I can find a good deal on this model I may trade in my Krells.

Give IN-DEPTH AUDIO a call 248-666-1000 ask for Mike,Tell them I refered you.The longer you play this amp the more open the top end gets and it's pretty friggin' open out of the box.No tube rolling on this amp, they are permanent and built to last a life time. You really do get the best of both worlds,no headaches from tube gear, and the power of a good SS amp.You can leave it on 24/7 or turn it off after every use.Set and forget. Can't do that with normal tube gear. And that is what appealed to me,tube sound without the hassle. This baby will add definition to every musical note and clear up vocals. If I had a digital camera,it would be on the tastefull babe thread.Still haven't gotten the nerve to tell the wife yet.Someone is gonna be in troooouble!!!!:D :D:D:D:D

She is in Atlanta for a few days, comes back on Sunday.Another point about
the Butler, this thing draws very little power.Plugged it in to my Monster
5100 P/COND. Threw in Saving Private Ryan and cranked the volume to 0 on my B&K 307 and the draw was only 5 amps. This baby has power to spare
just waiting to be unleashed. My speakers are highly efficient,95 i do believe
so that is most likely why.At 4 ohm,it puts out 400 watts per side so if you have hard to drive speakers,it can do it.Always stays cool too,but not
recommended for cabinets or stacking, the tubes need air.:D :D

Just a quick update,Wife came home from Atlanta and guess what...she is sooo cool about it.But made me promise to not buy anything else for awhile.
Amp definately serves both camps. Not exactly the sound of a full blown
tube amp like a CARY OR BAT but also not exactly SS either. And to top it off
the WAF factor is very high.Want to get my hands on that all tube surround
processor they had at the last show, think it comes out this year.So yours truely is not in the dog house and enjoying his music once again.

BTW MICK, if they ever come after you for your gear send it to me ,will hold on to it for ya....:D :D
