I rented this movie last week, 1st time seeing it. I give it 9/10. It rocked. The children actors were very very good. The youngest excellent. The story was pretty true to the animated version in the 70's. Very well done. Pace was good, never boring. The effects were also very good, especially since all of the action was in daylight.

Wouldn't you mean, the books that were written by the great C.S. Lewis? I thought so.

I thought the movie dragged a little bit in the middle.. can't beat the original books, that's for sure, but it will be a fun series to watch! I'd give it a 7.5/10

I'm sure it would appeal more for children or younger kids, than to strictly adults. Well worth a rent and eventually a buy when they complete the entire series...

    Enjoy!

I have not yet read the books so I cannot compare personally. I first heard this tale with the animated movie I enjoyed as a kid. The new movie was very similar.

It's a kids movie, not much at all for adults in this one. Took my 8 year old daughter to see it in the theater, she liked it. I was bored too tears.

My wife and I enjoyed it a lot. It is a Disney movie and is suitable for kids, but there are also a lot of parts in the movie that a kid will not understand. Certain dialog and images that were intended for adults. Overall I think it was very well done.

I have to agree with Ron-P. Though I was not bored to tears, the movie is geared to a very young audience. I could never identify with the characters (unlike the Harry Potter Movies that give enough character definition to identify with their feelings) so I just sat back and watched. Entertained but not a purchase for me.

Just picked up the DVD, more than worth owning for me. For you DTS fiends -- it's got that too, and even on the bare bones version of the DVD. Let yourself be a kid again, and let your imagination run wild. It's a great flick.
