What will I need?

New construction house, will have a 42" Plasma over fireplace and need to know, what will I need behind the TV besides an electrical outlet???

you might want to consider a cable outlet, but you probably won't need that now in the day of digital boxes...
at least make sure you have enough room to run all your wires from the various sources back there... -
You might want to put in a big outlet box with conduit running to where ever you're going to put the receiver or AV rack.

At the very least I'd run a 1" conduit to a double gang box from where you plan to put your AV rack to where you plan to hang the TV
Edit: Steve is right. Pick a place for the AV rack and put in a pad. Or at least a couple of boxes... -
