Hi all,

I've noticed the last two movie DVD's I've played with a DTS soundtrack, the LFE is missing.

First one was Stargate and just last night with Blade: Trinity.

Dolby Digital sounds fine and the LFE track is played back fine, but when I switch the audio track to DTS, the LFE meter moves, but nothing out the sub.

Receiver is a Sony STR-DA777ES

Night mode is not turned on.
Compression is turned off.

LFE effects is set to 0 db
DTS LFE is set to 0 db

Everything else works fine, just the DTS LFE is low/missing on playback.

Any ideas?

I did a hard reset of my receiver and the DTS LFE output is still much less compared to the Dolby Digital versions.

I'm wondering if I am missing something here.

I ran some DVD test discs which allow you to change DTS to DD for each demo, and it is definitely noticable.

I have DTS LFE and LFE mix all set to 0 db. The DD settings are similar but the sub is felt and heard with much more authority in DD vs DTS.

Is DTS much more sensitive to how the front speakers are configured? My RTi12's are set to LARGE in my bass management which has good results.

    Any hints guys and gals?

    Thanks in advance.
