repair top of RM1000W

I just recieved a RM1000W sub with 2 damaged corners on the top. UPS somehow dropped it during shipment. I only paid $21 dollars+$27 shipping, so I am looking for suggestions on how to make a repair to the top. I am considering either building a wood jacket to wrap the top or entire unit, or attempting to remove the top and replace with solid wood or a composite.
At one time I saw an image of the internal components and construction. Does anyone have that or suggestions of things to avoid? Thanks.
