2001 Honda Accord EX. 2.3L VTEC 4cyl, mated to a 5spd tranny. 99,000 miles, but in damn near perfect shape!

    Yeah, they just moved the plate over until the DMV sends me a new one :). THe drive to work this morning on the highway was actually enjoyable :D Cruise control is a wonderful thing!!!

    with routine meintenance, that car should last a loooong time. those Honda's virtually cant be killed. looks like a good reliable ride, take good car of it, and it should take care of you

    Remember to get the timing belt changed every 60K or you'll hate Hondas when you have to pay for a new head, especially a VTEC head. Did you ask when the one in the engine now was replaced? Another thing, when you do replace one, it's cost effective to change the water pump at the same time. That way you only have to pay labor once.

    Edit- Now that I thinl about it, the mileage for timing belt replacement changed at some point and i don't remember when. If you got the manuals with the car, check it out in there. Seriously though, go by that book. I've known several people that have owned Hondas that thought just because it says Honda on it, they didn't have to do anything but put gas in it, change the oil and filters, and rotate the tires. That's is far from the truth. Hondas require just as much routine(scheduled) maintanance as any car out there and more than quite a few. If you do what is required, then you'll have a trouble free car for a long time, but if you don't, repairs are expensive. You don't want to be driving down the interstate at 75 mph and the timing belt break, I promise ya.

    How much did you end up spending on the car Noah?

    That car is identical to mine and I'm currently having the belts, water pump, and seals replaced as we speak........fun times.

    The car was on the lot for $10,999. Here's how it'll break down:

    I financed $7500 - after interest it will be around $10,000
    I got $3000 for the truck
    I paid $1088 down

    Total cost, $14,088

    For that kind of cash, I would have put about $3k more with it and searched for a good 2000, 2001, 2002 Camaro SS! :D

    But, back on track, here....that looks like it's in perfect condition! Does it even have a scratch on it? Congrats, man! Take care of it and enjoy!

    The original window sticker was included - $21,000

    Then the owner added factory foglights, and factory mudflaps, AFTER car deliver, so figure at least $22k

    Its amazing to me that a Honda can command 50% of its delivery price after it has nearly 100K miles.

    japanese cars usually due, especially Honda and Toyota

    bought my wife's car (2003 Corolla S) for 16800, that sucker still lists trade in for 12 and change and we had it for almost 4 years. Of course, I got a great deal from the dealer since I had a connections, but even at 18500 sticker, thats not bad for depreciation.

    My friend purchased a 1990 Honda Prelude back in 1991 for $12,500. The car had about 25K miles on it when he got it. Over the next 10 years, he put over 300K miles on it....all without any rebuild engine or transmission. By that time, the dark blue paint for flaking off and the factory wheels were badly chipped. In 2001, he purchased a brand-new Honda Accord EX just like nadams' to replace the Prelude. The Prelude was still able to be sold for $2,000!!
