Alpine - Made in USA?

I am wondering if anyone knows if Alpine manufactures their audio equipment in the USA, or is it overseas?

More specifically, I'm interested to know if Type R subwoofers (SWR-1222D in particular) and the MRD-M1005 monoblock amplifier are made in the USA. The reason I ask is because I will be purchasing two of the specified subwoofers and the specified amp online from the US, and I live in Canada. These items will need to be shipped into Canada and clear customs. If this equipment is made in the USA, I won't have to pay customs duties on them, however if they are made elsewhere I will.

Any help is much appreciated!

I dont think anybody makes their stuff in America anymore. Didnt USAmps recently announce they were starting to ship things out to China?

Anyhoo, no, Alpine's stuff is made in China.

Zapco is made in America tho.

i've always liked Alpine. When I was into car audio 10years ago, they were the cream of the crop, along with RF amps. Maybe things have changed now, but I still love my alpine h.u.
