I can't get to the webpage to provide a link, but on http://www.stereophile.com there's a good article on the difference between "accurate" sound and "beautiful" sound, interesting read...

Yes, it was in the last mag, I thought the writer did a pretty fair job in laying out the differences in what a particular manufacture might strive for.
Certain gear appeals to different folks. My tendancy is to listen to the music and not the gear so there you go. Neither is right or wrong just different sides of the audio coin.
