I am purchasing the RTi12 surround speaker package from Crutchfield and the Denon AVR-3806 Receiver. Does it have enough guts to push the speakers? If not please give suggestions for a good amp, I have no knowledge of amps and am purchasing these items from whats been said in the forums. Thanks for your knowledge in advance.
Denon 3806 Receiver
Denon 3910 DVD
Oppo BDP-83 Blu-Ray
Outlaw 7500 300w x 5 @4 Ohms Amp
58" Panasonic 800U 1080P Plasma TV
SVS PB-12 Plus Sub
Lsi25 Fronts-Cherry
LsiC Center
LsiFX Surrounds
SMS-1 Velo Sub EQ
PBJ Interconnects
Blue Jeans Cables

Everything was going just fine till my buddy poked the cop in the chest and said "did Andy give you your bullet today Barney?"

These are a couple posts for basic amp information. You'll probably have more luck in the Electronics area instead of the Speakers area.

I think probably most of the people here will tell you to get an amp to help drive those monsters. The 3806 will do a decent job to start with, but you won't realize the potential of your system until you add a big beefy power amp.

I have an older 2 channel 150 Watt High current amp from a sharp 7700 integrated stereo. It only has two rca type jacks for input. Would this be feasable? Would i need a preamp?

Your Denon would function as the preamp. Just plug the Sharp into the L/R Front preouts on the Denon & you should be good to go.
