Hello Everyone,
I just purchased my first set of Polk's. After hearing many good reviews, I purchased a set of LSi9's, LSi7's, and LSiC. They are shipping today, so I can't wait till they arrive. I've never auditioned them, but figure all the reviews can't be wrong.
If anyone has any recommendations, or tips I would appreciate it.

Put them on a separate amp(s). The stronger, the better.
The LSi9 is a jewel amongst also-rans.

Congrats on the nice purchase! Not too many go straight to the top on their first purchase. I'm assuming that you may be new to Polk, but not new to home theater given your choice of speakers. What did you have previously? If you don't drive a Jeep, then please stay on the pavement.

You know what happened when you assume. LOL
I an new to Home Theater. I started getting involved last year. My main HT system is a 7.1 sytem with Speakercraft AIM8 Five's in-ceilings. Installed by a pro boutique shop. My receiver is a Denon 4806 for that system. All teamed with a Mitsubishi DLP 1080p 73". No Sub yet. But will purchase a SVS PB12 Plus/2 soon.
So I really have no experience installing, and setting up a system. I put my old Mitsu 60" in a small home office. I'll be putting a small system together in that room. Also figure it would give me a little hands on experience (Connecting, Wiring, Calibrating, Tweeking).
You can see my main system in my Webshots pics.

I agree, you need a preamp and amp to make them shine...I'd go outlaw all the way, good value for the money, If not now then make it a point on getting separates, you won't be dissapointed

good luck, I hope your expectations are level. Great speakers for the price but don't expect miracles.

Did you forget to recalibrate your Denon AVR again?Political Correctness'.........defined

Speaking of calibrating, don't forget to pick up a Radio Shack SPLMeter and do it right.

I'll tell you guys what I need some help in. Wall brackets to mount the LSi7's. They have to be able to adjust 180*, and pivot up, and down. My couch is up against a wall, and I need to be able to aim the speakers down at the listening area. Any help would be appreciated.

First I have to say I didn't know these speakers came with a wood, & piano finish. The sides are wood, and the tops, and face are a piano black finish. They are a really good looking speaker. I couldn't believe how heavy they are. I am very impressed with there appearance.
I can't wait to hear them. If they sound as good as they look, that would be "Totally Awesome". -
I need to be able to aim the speakers down at the listening area.

Here are a few Pic's of the LSi9's, 7's, and LSiC. I still need gear, and stands for them.

Thanks Seby, & Dorokusai
This isn't my main HT system. Just something I'm puttng together for a second system. I moved my 60" Mitsu into my office. So I figured I'd put a system together in there.
I also purchased a Paradigm Studio 20's system to do a comparison test between the two. Just having some fun. -
Wow! Very nice!!!Marantz AV-7705 PrePro, Classé 5 channel 200wpc Amp, Oppo 103 BluRay, Rotel RCD-1072 CDP, Sony XBR-49X800E TV, Polk S60 Main Speakers, Polk ES30 Center Channel, Polk S15 Surround Speakers SVS SB12-NSD x2

What do you guys think of putting the LSi9's in their sides? Any advantage for having both drivers at the same level?
-
NO! Stand them up and put the correct speaker on the correct side. Toe them in and enjoy.

Anyway - many of us, including me, are using BT-77 stands and they work great. The only thing they do not have that you mentioned is the ability to tilt more than about 5-10 degrees.
Your system looks really nice - can't wait to hear your impressions on the polk vs Paradigm comparison. (I think the paradigm's can get a little brite after extended listening, but that could have been the electronics that they were using at the time....)
