WOOHOOWOOHOO!!
This big sucker eats my old CSi30 for breakfast. My first experince with a real center; I'm very estatic.
One thing uncovered immedately after exchanging CSi30 for CSi5 - my H/k 330 lacks the muscle to handle the RTi series. Altogether, this is not unsuprising.
Secondly, movies featuring a mono soundtrack like "All the President's Men" and "Cool Hand Luke" take on entirely different atmosphere when played through the CSi5. Prior to the CSi5, all dvd mono soundtracks were forced into the main front speakers which are of course, RTi10.
Do any of the Polk RTi or LSi lines comply with THX select or THX ultra specifications?

Congrats on your new center channel. since so much of a movie is dialog, it's really important to have a good center. now you do. enjoy.PolkFest 2012, who's going>?

Playing movies through my new CSi5 with RTi10's, I am beginning to notice sounds, details, indeed a whole new level of ambience that just didn't exist before.
Call me loony, but can a matching sound field bring in details from the main speakers?JVC 61FN97

you're loony!
that's what you want.. a seamless three front speakers.. having the same drivers/tweeters helps to smooth things out.
Do you have one of those Radio Shack sound level meters? that will also help smooth out all your speakers. Doing it by ear is pretty much impossible. No matter how good your hearing is.
I think what you're now hearing is a more open soundfield from your center.. that's reaching beyond your center and extending to your fronts. that's what you want.. exactly that.PolkFest 2012, who's going>?

hehehe
my h/k 330 has a good spl meter built in..
wish this had more power.
Consequintly, I have bee considering a reciever/power amp upgrade for quite sometime...rti10/csi5 truly need 200 watts.
Off-topic problem though; I registered my csi5 speaker yesterday, but when I attempt to log in, the server doesn't recognize my email. What gives?
It worked the first time. :mad:JVC 61FN97

I'm a little frustrated.
I am currently going through a home theater upgrade. I'm switching out my sony dreamsystems speakers with polk. My main problem has been the dialogue. I recently replaced my sony center with the csi5, but still am having a problem hearing voices. I have to turn my reciever up way to high in order to hear what people are saying...?? my reciever is sony str-da2000es. since i'm still running my old sony's --4ohms, for the rest of my speakers, could this maybe be my issue.?? -

No. does your Sony have set up tones, so you can set up your speakers properly? Most do these days.. or else you can get an Avia home theater set up DVD. basically it sounds like your levels are to low for your center and to high for your fronts. go into your menu and raise the volume for only your center channel. that will help some.
but you need to correctly set up your speakers. to do this you need something called a Sound Pressure Level meters.. or SPL. this is a instrument that measures the sound volume of your speakers. I'm just giving the readers digest version of what a SPL meter does.
You then set with the SPL meter in your favorite viewing seat.. and run the test tones from your recevier.. then you go into the menu and set the levels one speaker at a time. beginning with the left front, then center, and right front. and so forth. this can not be done by ear.. your ears can not accurately measure the sound a precisely as the SPL meter can. once done.. i think you'll notice a big improvement in dialog and all around better surround sound.
SPL meters from Radio Shack run about $50 or so.PolkFest 2012, who's going>?

I you want huge you should try the CS400i, I'm looking into 'downgrading';) to the CSi5 because I cannot find a tv stand with enough drawer space (height) to put them in. (I'm getting a new 61" DLP next week so I need to get rid of the old entertainment center).
