Polk C400.4 with 4 MMC6500's- enough power?

I was wondering if anyone has this setup or had experience with one like it;
1 C400.4 powering 4 MMC6500's

Looking at just the specs the speakers require 125w of continous power per speaker while the amp only puts out 75w per channel at 4 Ohms, which looks like the amp is underpowered for running 4 of these speakers. I've read that underpowering your speakers is actually worse than over powering so would I be better off looking at a more powerful amp like an Alpine PDX-4.150 that can put out 150w at 4 Ohms? Sound quality is what I'm looking for so if 75w is more than enough to operate these speakers without distortion or other adverse affects than I'd like to stick with it.

Thanks for the help,
G

    Welcome to the forum.

    The real output of the 400.4 is closer to 90-95w continuous per channel.

    I just bought a c400.4 and the birth sheet shows 94 x 4 RMS. The 75w rating is VERY underrated which also pisses me off about Polk. Half the people out there have no clue that this thing pushes nearly 100x4 so they dont give it a second look. If this AMP was rated at 90x4 people would give it more consideration (especially at that price point)

    Go price out AMPs that do 100x4 and compare it to the c400.4.

    Now only if the weather would cooperate so I can get started with my install!

    Why would that piss you off? You pay for 75 watts and get 95! Thats actually a pretty good deal. I guess you could always start buying home audio amps where you pay for 75 and get maybe 40. ;)

    Thanks for the input! I'm gonna post my plans soon and hopefully the install with pictures to see what you guys think. My biggest holdback at this point is waiting for the dealer to get the vehicle in so most of my plans are speculative since I don't know where I'm going to put everything just yet.
